Behind Keeper is a small team with a big vision: to help more Americans access the tax breaks they deserve.

Every year, around 40 million Americans overpay on their taxes by an average of $1,249. We call this phenomenon The Freelance Tax Tragedy, and Keeper exists to put an end to it.

To do this, we’ve redesigned tax filing software from the ground up around personalization, intelligence, and impeccable user experience. Our automatic write-off identification technology allows people to simply connect a financial account, wait 45 seconds, and watch as hundreds of dollars get added to their tax refunds.

This was my first time using Keeper for bookkeeping and tax filing. In the past I just used spreadsheets and filed with Turbotax. This was the easiest tax return in years, I was able to link my accounts and review my expenses from the year, upload my documents and they handled the rest. I had a couple of questions along the way and they were answered quickly, even late evening and weekends. Any issues flagged were brought to my attention and I was given options to handle them. The only thing I had issue with was some of my transactions did not pull in from the linked accounts. I was able to find them easily and upload statements to fill the gaps. Still this was the easiest filing in years. This year I'll use the bookkeeping throughout the year and I'm sure next year will be even easier!

The last couple years I have used TurboTax to file my taxes. I have always felt a little confused by at least a few questions they ask, but with Keeper, it was easier, faster, and more efficient since all my deductions were already loaded into the app. This is my first year receiving a 1099 and I wasn't sure how much work it would be, but Keeper made the whole thing as simple as possible

Ive tried a couple of online taxing for my self employed work and id say keepertax is the most simplest and easiest program to use. i used to spend about $500 to hire a person to go through my taxes and it was just a little too unrealistic for me to do. also tried turbo tax which is cheaper but not as easy going through deductions. so this has been a great service and will definitely use it again next year!
